Apr 02,  · La Gargola does have its anthemic/soaring moments in the traditional Chevelle vein, but in my opinion is much heavier and a bit thrashier than past offerings. However, I have to say that La gargola is really unique and definitely pretty grooving in the Chevelle way (you can equal parts head bang and dance to the songs, the songs just groove /5().

Apr 01,  · Veteran hard rockers Chevelle recorded again with producer Joe Barresi, who worked magic on ’s Hats Off to the Bull and has helped prog-metal groups like Tool and Coheed and Cambria define their sounds. Together, they've made one of the strongest albums of Chevelle's career.

Chevelle - La Gárgola review: Chevelle tweak their sound, and come up with their most engrossing album in years. 'Take Out the Gunman' houses tribal rhythms and psychedelic leads wondrously interspersed with a ferocious chorus. "It's basically a masterpiece when compared to shitty "alt. metal" stuff that comes out these days but still /5.
